Strategic Planning Methodology

"The best way to predict the future is to create it." Abraham Lincoln

About

When it comes to running your team, organization, or company you have two choices, you can either be deliberate or you can be Alice. In Lewis Carroll’s book “Alice in Wonderland”, when Alice is walking down the yellow brick road and first encounters the Cheshire Cat, she asks for direction, but she does not know where she is going.

“Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
The Cheshire Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.

Alice: I don't much care where.

The Cheshire Cat: Then it doesn't much matter which way you go.

Alice: ...So long as I get somewhere.
The Cheshire Cat: Oh, you're sure to do that, if only you walk long enough.”

Don't be Alice!

Develop your plan for where you want to go. Create your future. Achieve your success.

THE MPS STRATEGIC PLANNING METHODOLOGY AND PROCESS

This book is structured as a how to guide. It will walk you through the MPS Strategic Planning Methodology and provide you the skills required to create an effective strategic plan for your team, organization, or business to best help you get you from where you are today to where you want to be tomorrow in a deliberate and effective manner.

The MPS strategic planning methodology is derived from over 20 years of leadership and planning experience and almost a decade’s worth of practical execution. It focuses on developing an action plan that is postured on a solid foundation and is executable. What separates this methodology from others is that it scalable depending on your level of understanding and familiarity with strategic planning. It can be used by anyone to develop a new strategic plan or to refine an already developed plan.

MPS has converted its methodology into a 5-step process. It has also developed an acronym to help user better remember and understand each step. The acronym for the MPS strategic planning process is UDICE. UDICE stands for Understand, Define, Identify, Create and Employ.
